As a Hardware Systems Engineer (m/f/d), you can anticipate an exciting and meaningful role with considerable creative freedom, in which you can actively shape the implementation of our projects and product development. If you are enthusiastic about medical technology and state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging, we look forward to getting to know you. Your responsibilities in this role will include: 

  • Technical responsibility for the (further) development of medical device hardware, from requirements analysis to series production
  • Translating stakeholder requirements into technical system requirements
  • Creating, further developing and maintaining the system architecture and technical development documentation
  • Ensuring the technical integrity of changes in the context of the overall system through close coordination of all areas of development (mechanics, electronics, optics and software)
  • Close cooperation with the development, product management, regulatory affairs, production, quality management and customer service departments
  • Moderation of technical exchanges and consistent pursuit of technical goals
  • Scouting for new technologies, participation in trade conferences and trade fairs
  • Representing technical results to internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting risk analyses and failure mode and effects analyses (FMEA)
  • Supporting the team in regulatory and compliance activities such as audits

Your qualifications

  • More than 5 years of experience in the development of complex medical devices  
  • University degree in electrical engineering, physics, engineering or a comparable field  
  • Technical expertise in the field of electronics development  
  • Basic technical expertise in the field of mechanical design and firmware and software programming  
  • Experience in the approval of medical devices (FDA 510(k) clearance, CE conformity procedure) and in the application of IEC and DIN EN standards (e.g. IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, DIN EN 62353:201-10)  
  • Experience in the field of optical coherence tomography desirable 
  • Experience in requirements engineering desirable  
  • Experience as a systems engineer desirable
